I have known Mark since well before my professional cricket career with Yorkshire CCC started. Gilly is a ferocious competitor but plays the game in the right spirit. He is a match winner and has turned many a game in both the county and league arena with his powerful, exciting stroke play. He has undoubted knowledge of the game and an infectious enthusiasm and work ethic, giving him some of the most important attributes required by a top class coach.I would like to wish Gilly every success in his new venture.

I have known Mark Gilliver for over 20 years since playing with him at Leicestershire County Cricket Club. A very likeable guy who has bundles of passion combined with fantastic cricketing knowledge. I also had the privilege of playing with him in Perth Western Australia. Latterly Mark has moved on to become a very successful cricket coach.

I have played both with and against Gilly many times in the Bradford League; a great cricketer to be coaching the younger generation. He will bring plenty of fun to the sessions – that is for sure; a great character!

I have known Mark for the past 10 years since playing against him with Yorkshire and knowing him through my good mate and playing colleague Anthony McGrath who is one of Marks best friends. Mark is a very likeable person and has been a great cricketer around the Yorkshire leagues over the past 15 years. Especially his 16000 Bradford league runs. He now is a successful cricket coach throughout Yorkshire. Mark has coached my girlfriend’s two boys at QEGS over the last couple of years, and absolutely love, his passion, enthusiasm and knowledge of the game. Most importantly, he made it fun.

I have known Mark for over 25 years now and he has always been a tough opponent on the field and a good friend off it. Having coached on many occasions alongside Mark, I have learned a lot from him with respect to coaching children. Seeing children of all ages enjoying learning and playing the game is great to see and Mark excels at this, as his enthusiasm is infectious. marks technical knowledge, demeanour and ability to get information over to the players and for that information to be understood is second to none.

Any man that has been involved in the game for as long as Gilly has a huge amount of knowledge to pass on. The fun and enthusiasm he has, creates a great learning environment.

I met Mark whilst playing for Northants against Leicestershire back in the 90’s and the first thing I noticed about him was his passion for the game. A good player who’s hunger to learn from others has made him into a very knowledgeable coach. I would recommend any aspiring cricketers to take full advantage of this experience. Ultimately the players will learn a great deal technically and improve their tactical awareness in all facets of the game. Best of all I know the sessions will be great fun which creates which creates a positive environment.
